Bawumia's campaign team calls for decency in political dialogue

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign group has highlighted the necessity for political leaders to interact with one another in a respectful manner, avoiding personal attacks and insults.

This remark was prompted by a recently shared video featuring New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer candidate, Kennedy Agyapong, who harshly criticised Dr. Bawumia.

Kennedy Agyapong claimed that Dr. Bawumia told NPP delegates in the Ashanti Region that the party’s 1992 presidential candidate, Prof. Adu Boahene, abstained from the 1996 primaries due to health concerns.

In his vitriolic comments directed at Bawumia, Agyapong called him a liar. Nevertheless, a later video surfaced showing that Dr. Bawumia did not make the statement attributed to him by Kennedy Agyapong.

The campaign group has condemned Agyapong's comments, emphasising, “Dr Bawumia believes that as leaders, we must always state our views devoid of tantrums and personal insults while maintaining truthfulness, decorum, and restraint at all times.”
