A soldier, allegedly responsible for the deaths of his best friend, Kobby, and his pregnant wife, Mary, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
According to reports, the suspect, Prince Okrah, is a soldier who was recently transferred from Takoradi to Tamale.
After spending some time at the Tamale Military Camp, he travelled to Greater Accra to visit his longtime friend, Ebenezer Kwabena Obri popularly known as Kobby at his rented apartment in Tema Golf City.
The two men had been friends for more than 15 years. On Prince’s arrival, Kobby picked him and briefly stopped to meet another friend to enquire about purchasing petrol worth GH¢100,000 for someone.
Reports say this conversation took place openly in front of Prince. After a friendly discussion, all parties went their separate ways.
Kobby later took Prince back to his home, known as the “Immigration House”, where he lived with his six-month-pregnant wife and their three-year-old daughter.
It was there that Prince was expected to rest after his journey.
It is alleged that once Prince became aware that Kobby had GH¢100,000 in cash, he attacked him and stabbed him multiple times in an attempt to steal the money.
When Kobby’s wife tried to intervene, she was also reportedly stabbed several times around the chest. Both victims died at the scene, leaving their three-year-old daughter behind.
Three days later, neighbours noticed a foul smell emanating from the apartment. Upon investigating, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Kobby and his wife. Their daughter was found sitting beside them.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The suspect fled afterwards, and despite extensive efforts to locate him, authorities were unable to do so.
Following the incident, the Ghana Police Service launched a manhunt.
Sources indicate that Prince Okrah has since been arrested and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
