Ghana Tourism Authority launches 'Experience Ghana' digital campaign to boost domestic tourism

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has launched the 'Experience Ghana' digital tourism campaign, aiming to promote domestic tourism and increase international interest in the country's rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GTA, Maame Efua Houadjeto, emphasized the importance of sustained, coordinated visibility in showcasing Ghana's attractions to the world.

"Today, we are not just launching a campaign, we are igniting a movement," she said.

The campaign, supported by partners including Tang Palace Hotel, Labadi Beach Hotel, and Afro Arab Group, will harness the power of user-generated content, storytelling, and digital participation to turn citizens, visitors, and the diaspora into ambassadors of Ghana's tourism industry.

She also noted that according to the Ghana Statistical Service, domestic tourism expenditure reached 6.69 billion cedis in the 2024/2025 period, demonstrating the sector's significant economic potential.

She stressed that the "Experience Ghana" campaign aims to drive this growth, creating jobs and strengthening livelihoods across the tourism value chain.

Madam Houadjeto further urged Ghanaians to participate in the campaign, sharing their experiences and stories about the country's attractions.

"Let us flood the digital space with the beauty, culture, energy, and authenticity that define Ghana," she stated.
